Richard is an associate lawyer in our litigation practice group. He regularly appears before the Superior Court of Justice, as well as the Small Claims Court advocating for clients in property damage and personal injury claims.
Before becoming an associate, Richard was a summer student and articling student with Agro Zaffiro LLP, gaining a wide range of experience in the firm’s diverse areas of expertise and particularly insurance defence, and commercial litigation.
Richard received his J.D. from the University of Windsor in 2013 and was called to the bar in 2014. While obtaining his law degree he acted as the Student Supervisor at the University of Windsor’s Mediation Clinic, where he conducted many mediations for clients ranging from small business owners to corporations. He assisted with resolving disputes involving contracts, debt collection, academic integrity allegations and property maintenance. He also volunteered at the school’s Community Legal Aid clinic, where he represented clients charged with criminal offences at the Ontario Court of Justice.
Before obtaining his J.D., Richard obtained his Bachelor of Arts, and Master of Arts, completing a major research thesis for his Masters. While completing his Master’s degree he also presented several papers at national Canadian Conferences, and provided opinions on the implications of Ontario’s incoming Renewable Energy Legislation.
Richard grew up in the Brantford area where he played competitive baseball. He is an active traveller and scuba diver and has enjoyed the opportunity to scuba dive in many regions of Africa, Central America, and Canada.
