John Parente was born and raised in Hamilton and comes from a family with a rich heritage in the construction and land development industry. His children have carried on the tradition of keen business acumen. He was called to the Bar in 1957 and appointed Queen's Counsel in 1978.


Now retired, his areas of practice included corporate and commercial law, contracts, property development, municipal by-laws, regulations and approvals and administrative law.

He is a Past President of the Sons of Italy (Hamilton), and a Director for Sons of Italy (Hamilton) Housing Corporation, 1980 to present.
